Link’s Awakening never resonated much with me and I finished it when I was pretty young. The visuals are an interesting direction and I actually like the ‘simple-eyed’ look to Link. It looks visually like Nintendo just bought someone’s jam game or fan recreation to me lol.

Yes! It had that feel. Link's Awakening wasn't a big one for me either, but maybe through a new lense... and they tend to tweak gameplay on these reboots.
