Are there any 3D top down shooters that do vertical shooting well?

Do you mean like Ikaruga or Radiant Silvergun?
Sorry I think I didn't use vertical correctly; by vertical I mean more like a top-down 'third-person shooter'. For example, imagine a Diablo where the character isn't restricted to that one plane and they can shoot around and up. I'm wondering if there's a game like that.

Will need to think on it. I remember an alien horde style game like this but can't remember the title.

My suspicion is that there aren't many because most standard third person control schemes support move/camera as camera acts as a shoot direction, and this would require almost a move/camera/separate aim.
