Continued working on the map for the horror game. There are some really cool things about this map design that I wonder if players will even notice. But it sure makes map design more fun.

Basically, I have area maps layered on each other that connect in ways that create navigation puzzles as well as loops back into other areas. I guess somewhat like Resident Evil, or "Dark Souls confined to a smaller area".

So it's more complex and players might just think 'oh it's just laid out normally' when really they're standing in a space that occupies different zones depending on the way they got there. But layering them and finding ways to connect them is fun.

I think I was inspired by House of Leaves based only on part of the summary, because I haven't ever actually read it.
