I'd say that isn't accurate. They teach maybe too much even due to the game having crazy depth and breadth. It's just that each weapon is meant to be discovered as they play drastically different and the game doesn't force you to learn more advanced stuff immediately.
Can we talk about how most Monster Hunter games rely on the 'we don't teach you anything, learn it yourself' setup?

Do they actually teach it though or just expose core values for you to see? All I remember is playing that 3 port to Wii U and having to find a crafting item that I only found by going online. I've heard World is better about it.
