I've been taking a lot of criticism and stuff really, really personal lately even when it's said in a polite way. How do I fix this?

I think you've nailed the problem, I setup standards for myself that I feel some discussions are ways I fail at those standards. Even if they're somewhat ridiculous (both the standards, and ways I feel I've failed).
