As much as the horror genre has become more mature as of late, I think there's a very large number of people out there who think cheap jumpscare thrills are what horror is. Probably especially among teens...
I guess I forgot he kind of screams at you if you get caught, forgot about that technically being a jumpscare. I found with my old jam game that simply adding the horror tag on an Itch entry definitely gets noticed.
