I got into making games because I loved the depth and emotion in the stories. Yet, none of the games I've made have included any sense of a real, deep story. I feel like this wrong needs to be righted. Question: make a game only for story, or strongly focused on gameplay?

Yeah that's what I thought too, but imagine Miles & Kilo with bland nondescript blobs. Art like that to me might add a bit of story (or at least lore). I see all these great indie retro sidescrollers with great gameplay and art, what if it was just blobs, would it still be good?

(To be fair I stretched the concept of 'story' for that response lol)

I think it's interesting for games like Geometry Wars, sure there's a world there (universe maybe?) but the approach to an abstract world may be a little "different" than something a little more specific in terms of art.
