With time, I would likely trust that n of m scheme more than an new, on-chain contract. However, no matter the underlying cryptography, the implementation, reliance risk, and interoperability can compromise whatever value a crypto scheme potentially adds.

And, of course, learnability for users, especially retail users, is one of most underappreciated aspects in product design. As we saw with Peter, even a username+password can be too complex if the word "password" means 80 different things.
