So other schools have had clear backpacks for years. Why weren't the parkland students protesting for the students at those schools?

Having 2 school age kids of my own, I have to wonder what moron believes this would prevent anyone from bringing in a gun? After pulling a few books from one of their packs, I snapped a few pics. The gun is no AR-15 but as a 9mm it can do plenty of damage.pic.twitter.com/e9iJmzfveh

I was required clear or mesh backpacks when I was in high school 10+ years ago. I went to a rural school with a graduating class of ~100 people.

That’s an invasion of privacy. You can’t punish all students because of what ONE waste of cum did
-
Also can’t punish all law abiding gun owning citizens because of what one kid did.
-
No you can’t, but you CAN enforce stricter laws on guns to make them less easily attainable
-
Yes, because that has worked so well with guns and drugs both so far.
-
It works well in other countries. (Retreived from https://www.cnn.com/2017/10/03/americas/us-gun-statistics/index.html …)pic.twitter.com/EBkFSsVgRG

And what did those countries have to do to get those laws to work so well? Graphs are great, but details are better.

I’m most familiar with Canada. This article does a good job of examining the legal practices of Canada and other developed countries with low rates of gun violence:http://www.businessinsider.com/canada-australia-japan-britain-gun-control-2013-1 …

In my personal opinion, Japan’s gun laws are a great model.

Clear backpacks great now at least if you get shot at the shooter can see your head hiding behind it takes the guesswork right out of aiming should’ve went with Kevlar backpacks instead
-
Who hides behind a backpack during a shooting? That is the dumbest statement ever.

Kids shouldn't be making decisions. Kids just need protected. Live and let your voices be heard later, but for now, just live
