.@dlberes then don’t buy Apple. You aren’t forced to. Switch, buy one that lets you replace the battery. Nothing like damned if you do damned if you don’t in consumer land. ALL phones are eventually trash - superseded. Even ones you can replace the battering in yourself.

Not the point! Thank you though
-
Right. The point is you deem the info more valuable to Apple than to you so they shouldn’t have bothered to provide the info in his way.
-
Maybe so, although not necessarily. People should know when they need to get their device serviced, it's just too bad that it's not easier to do so.
-
Are there actually any higher quality smart phones that still let you self service?
-
LG V20, but they're a dying breed

We generally pass phones down in the family. I have yet to replace a battery. Oldest iPhone is around 4yrs old. Obviously “mileage” varies widely based on use. :-)
-
I don't doubt this is true! Also good on you, that is a responsible way to handle phones. I'll concede I'm hard on Apple, but of all the companies... think they can take the heat

I got 87% for a 6S Plus. Not too bad, considering. Another reason to hang onto it a little bit longer!
