This is a new way to 3D print at homepic.twitter.com/VjyqNiEd2h

Molding is the new 3D printing
The 'FormBox' by Mayku can be used to make objects or make molds to make large numbers of objects.

Almost identical to a toy from the 1960's. I had one but I can't remember what it was called. Had 4 inch plastic squares that fit in the upper part which you lowered down over the original. It heated the plastic and pulled soft plastic down and around w/ a built-in vacuum.

3D printing sounds cool, but you still need all the materials for whatever you’re making. Sooo, I’m jus gunna go to the store.

I just printed this yesterday, using flour, sugar and my oven. If Vacuum Forming is 3D printing then baking is too. Molding is NOT 3D printing! #3Dprinting #3DPrinted #3dprinterpic.twitter.com/zLOz8O1PKI

Ok I don't get it. Won't 3D printing an actual mold be more precise?

I don’t understand you question, but 3D printing uses a software and a 3D model to print whatever you’ve designed. Vacuuming uses a mold to shape a layer of plastic.

I'm just saying. Won't a 3D printed mold of a Lego let's say be more precise and accurate than vacuum molding since it might miss some creases and corners?

Yes, of course. Two different ways of producing for different results. 3D is more precise.

More accurately, it's a machine to make moulds. Still pretty cool though.
