    Leaves plates
A German company is producing disposable plates entirely made out of leaves as an alternative to plastic packaging. One plate, on average, costs around 50 cents and is 100% biodegradable.

This is exactly what was being done in #India for the past 100s of years, of late, with industrialization there is more of plastic plates. It's high time to move back to nature.

We already have these in India for as long as I can remember. The only innovation I see in this product is that its machine pressed whereas, in India it's handmade, supporting an actual small-scale. So, this product - Eco-friendly: Yes Innovative: Definitely not

I don't know if you all know this but Indians (Majority of South India) had adopted these bio-friendly disposable plates and cups way before you can imagine. But the commencement of cheap plastic disposable slowly brought the shift from bio-friendly to bio hazardous disposables.

We use it daily in our lives. It's not that ancient. And, there is nothing revolutionary about the process of this particular company. We have such biodegradable disposable plate manufacturing units at every nook and corner of India.
