You can't really lift and replace one section if there's a pipe or cable running through it. Fair idea but still not as cheap or socially good as Skytran.

Interesting, so a road that is broken up into sections and can be easily replaced.... sounds like what concrete does. All our concrete roads out here were paved over with black top. I'm curious how this type of road handles in cold weather though.
