I have this cunningly shaped piece of metal that fits into my bike lock to open it and when I want to share it I can make another one and give it to my friend. It works without Bluetooth or any software at all. It uses a long forgotten art called engineering. How cool is that!

Can't see an accident happening with this thing.

And what stops a bike thief just... Picking up the bike?

This seems cool, except for one important detail called locking a bicycle to SOMETHING. If only the wheels are locked, it can still be stolen. And about the sharing thing, it's pointless. If I want a friend I trust to ride my bike, I give them a copy of the keys.

Is it just me, or are people trying to make too many things "smart"? Using my phone is convenient but is there a point where it's just easier to do something the 'old fashioned way'?
