Also, a standard, manual PEFR meter might cost like $20. And you can just write down the results in a journal ($1 @ dollar general). But it's a nifty lil gadget.

Um... it's basically a peak expiratory flowmeter...unless it'll measure an FEV1. Just gonna say, measuring something doesn't prevent occurrences. It however can help in the managing the treatment of asthma. But it's what you do after you measure that's preventative
