        I'm not reading this tripe. The illustration alone shows you've got the blame party all wrong. Of course you can't recline your seat when the seat back of the person behind you is 18" away, but the passengers aren't responsible for engineering this despicable configuration.

        HAVE Been dreaming of this for decades. Why must the one person on the plane who parks their butt in the seat then fully reclines it for the next 6-10 hours Always sit in front of me!?!!

        DISAGREE ENTIRELY! What about my belly!!! Will not be able to breathe in upright uptight no leg room position for half-day/full day flights across globe!         They do make seats that recline without invading into the space behind you…

        And those don't work for anyone taller than 170cm because the seat base slides forward. Cathay learnt that mistake the hard way.

        They stopped working because airlines reduced the space between rows… soon everyone will just need to stand and hold a strap that hangs from the ceiling…

        No that wasn't why those seats didn't work for Cathay. But broadly, the loss of seat pitch is to blame for the reclining issues now.
