Have you heard how many people can't cut an avocado in two without sending them to the hospital? I've done it at least 50 times.... haven't even come close.

I bought a pair of those for quilting after I sliced my finger open with a rotary cutter. Highly recommend 🔪🏥🔪

Clumsy cook as in someone who would saw halfway through their thumb before realising it? Alright.

Clearly you have no idea at just how sharp the knives are that real chefs use. There is no “sawing,” just one quick clean slice and your fingertip is gone. It happens to even the best of them at least once in their career.

You really can't trust how sharp the knife is during the part where they slice the carrot and then saw at the thumb. The carrots are boiled/cooked, so they could be cut by a butter knife or a spoon.

So the knife they used during the video is probably extremely dull

Nope. I’ve got a pair of these. (From a different manufacturer.) I’m accident prone, and thus very jumpy when handling blades. (I normally make everyone leave the house when I have to cut meat/veg.) These things really do stop cuts. (Not stabs by the tip, but cuts by the blade.)

Those are cut resistant gloves that are available all over the internet. Materials are usually Kevlar or something comparable like Dyneema. The higher the "cut level" rating the better the protection. There isn't a food processing facility in the country that doesn't use them.
