Did he just say that so that people can talk about him again? will we have to endure another apology song, now?pic.twitter.com/VCeMz5KTRa
-
Yup, that’s the punishment for his bad behavior, we all suffer now.
-
Well, I stopped listening to him and the
@U2 long time ago, so I might be able to avoid anymore punishment from this guy... But really, why did he have to say that? did he feel neglected? Bono. Bono... Who?#irrelevant -
Bono is right. Rock music used to be soaked in a kind of aggression that offered a healthy outlet for frustration. As the genre has moved more and more to top 40 chasing, unoffensive territories young men can no longer turn to rock for a reliable place to safely rage. That sucks.

What is out of touch here? He's saying the scene has changed to be un-aggressive. He even says that can be a good thing in some ways. When an Irishman says "girly" they mean it's something refined without rough edges. That's not an insult.
-
My bad, I thought we were speaking English. As per dictionary this is the definition of girlie: girlie ˈɡəːli/Submit adjective adjective: girly 1. derogatory characteristic of or appropriate to a girl. "girlie pink paper" Too bad I can put DEROGATORY in bold... I rest my case.pic.twitter.com/V3rWOH1Fx1

Because different English speaking cultures don't have slang meanings for same words or use them in a different context altogether. Not at all.

the fact that the writer then listed off a bunch of bland, auto-tuned, generic pop schlock that all sounds the same because it's all ghost-written by the same 5 people.... kinda proves that he's right. We need another Joan Jett, Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.
-
I agree, but he didn't mention women as part of the equation at all. "Young make aggression"? "Girly"? WTF, Bono? Makes we wanna hand him another freakin bicycle.

-
probably not the word I'd have used... but he's right that pop music is all just bland, schlock. The writer said something about how Taylor Swift's new album of "dis the ex boyfriend tracks" is "fire." No, it's just spoiled brat. That's not raging against angering but exboyfriend

Yeah, plus, when I think 'masculine music' the mind FLIES to U2.

Aaaannnnnnnnnd one of your writers managed to miss someone else's point again, this time with a SJW twist.

I wouldn't say girly. Music has become homogeneous. So much of the new stuff sounds the same. Alanis Morissette did angry and rock well. P!nk does angry and rock well. Lady Gaga too. We need originality!
