Didn't Spotify already do something like this last year? I seem to remember it pulling quite small data sets as well, again for "humor" (which, yeah, it's funny. But also terrifying?)

Spotify have been doing it for the last few years now. Personally don't see the issue, far worse data privacy issues to tackle out there
-
I mean, fair. It does feel a bit Big Brother-y, but the difference is what Neflix *does* with that data, and I don't see (yet) any major security concerns. Still a bit creepy though, no?

How do you think we get our recommendations on Netflix, Amazon et al. Like I said, Spotify have been doing it for years, I quite enjoy their campaigns.pic.twitter.com/FLgbPn54at

I think it's funny too, but in a winkingly creepy way. I mean, that had to have been what they were going for (unlike this straight cutesy Spotify ad). It's not *scary* in a privacy way, but creepy in an oh-crap-they-know kind of way
-
Absolutely, completely agree. I think we sometimes forget how much we 'share' with the outer world. Timely reminder for all of us.

Co. collect data. If you use technology, anything can be embedded to capture information. The bigger questions are what, how much, what's it being used for & is it being given to 3rd parties & for what use. Also,
