For military ops then they can go right ahead. I don't see how it's workable for civil aviation considering the standards of safety demanded. Plausible, not better.

Manufacturers would probably need to re-engineer the landing gear to cope with the sideways stresses from a banked runway. Doing that for all the aircraft in civil aviation is impractical.
