Looks and sounds really cool, and congratulations to the inventor on his ingenuity but (and sorry to be a killjoy) is there a mechanism to prevent it from sucking in water fowl, fish and other sea creatures?

Unfortunately, most trash sinks. Those floating dead leaves aren't trash, either, but are expected by the ocean, so are necessary to support its ecology.
