Wouldn't trapping water on the inside of the umbrella lead to issues with where it drains and mold?
It's a cool concept though.

This thing has been selling for ages in Asia. It can stand up right on its own, and the water will drip down. Wouldn't be trapped at all

They're hidden by covered fabric. I guess the I only way to see how it operates is to buy one then destroy, er, tear it apart. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
