Plastic is taking a backseat to leaf plates at this German companypic.twitter.com/dqMpSb4asS

    Leaves plates
A German company is producing disposable plates entirely made out of leaves as an alternative to plastic packaging. One plate, on average, costs around 50 cents and is 100% biodegradable.

Leaf plates and bowls have been used for decades in India along with earthenware cups. In olden days they used to be handmade.

Sir I know that..the point is that we loose our nerve protecting our heritage and then take pride when some1 else makes best use of it.

Pride or not, it's a fact that we have been using such plates and cups. What is wrong in stating facts?

Nothing wrong telling facts but wrong to leave traditions. Do we use leaf plates in our parties any more..

As long as they don't start chopping down forests to accommodate the growing of this leaf then it's a great idea.

It would be great to see this kind of concept used for packaging of goods etc instead of plastics, could be composted after use 👍
