This concept runway could change air travel as we know itpic.twitter.com/zR9GgSD1CR

Circular runways could revolutionize how planes takeoff and land
Circular runways are a radical redefinition of airport layout. They're designed to deal with increasing air traffic, allowing for multiple aircraft to takeoff and land simultaneously.

How many times are we going to see this posted? It is a terrible idea that will never bloody happen.

My version of this: a tower-based slingshot that lifts planes 20 stories up and then launches them into flight. No runways required! ;)

I disagree but think about this. In this simulation there is only one route. If planes break down or crash, the entire airport is shutdown.

I don't think I want my plane landing at speeds about 200 mph into a continuous right turn.

PLEASE stop circulating this very old, crap idea. Jeezus, 5 mins of research would show this is unworkable and was proved so decades ago.

Dumb idea. No way to change the ILS, need multiple RNAV approaches, ATC procedures would need to constantly shift, wake turb still an issue.
