why do the number of electoral votes given to each state have to be so antiquated ? Shld update to reflect modern demographics

um they do. The electoral votes are a total of senators and representatives from each state. Thus CA has the most.
-
does allocating electoral votes that way reflect current demographics of country?
-
called United States congressional apportionment and done every 10 years based on the census. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_congressional_apportionment#Reapportionment?wprov=sfsi1 …
-
why not do it based on congressional apportionment and leave senate seats out of it - or just based on population then?
