I thought slurping in Japanese culture meant you were telling the cook/chef that you were enjoying and appreciating the food...

That's what I thought. Now someone's gonna tell me I've been an absolute rude tied slurping ramen.

Hey Mashable, GET RID OF THIS SOUNDTRACK! We can't hear the fork sound clearly!! C'mon, this is so obvious: how could you create a video showcasing a sound, but you put this annoying music ON TOP OF IT???

Whoa cultural appropriation at it's finest. Just b/c slurping is not a social norm for western cultures this doesn't need a technological fix. Just a little openness to other cultures and their eating style and habit.

Lol Nissin is a Japanese company..

Correct & like any business they are seeking ways to sell more product even if it means demeaning one set of customers in one market. There is nothing wrong w/ slurping. This would be better spent for tech for people who have the shakes.
