When a guy ask if he can film y’all having sex, you say no. 90% of the problem just got solved.
But what if she wants to? We need to get over the idea that women don’t enjoy sex/ have kinks too.
That’s fine. I didn’t say don’t do it. I just meant if you don’t make a sex tape, revenge porn won’t be a problem. But feel free to do whatever you want in your own bedroom. I’m not judging.
and the people who are filmed without their consent? not only that but youre saying i should make my partner sign a contract saying they wont share them before i send them a nude?
That’s why my original tweet said 90% of the problem would be solved. The other 10% are the ones filmed w/o consent. That’s awful, I recognize that. Whatever else you’re talking about, contract stuff, is outta left field, I didn’t say or imply anything like that.
im saying that people should be able to trust their partners with something as simple as a nude pic without having to worry about it being tossed out on the net for strangers to jerk off to. no one should be shamed for trusting their partner with their body
You're right. They SHOULD be able to trust their partners with that stuff. But after you're no longer partners and they have that stuff in their hands who knows what they'll do with it. We cant trust people this day and age so it's better to just not consent to making a video
Y is it just woman do ppl think this revenge shit can't happen to a guy
Not the time for the "it can happen to guys too."
It actually time for it, the headline should be how PEOPLE fight back... Not just woman
~whataboutism~
If the content was taken unwillingly or without consent, that is a predator situation in need of real consequences. Hwvr, there's high-profile case in a which a woman volunteered to share explicit images of herself. If u give yourself away, you don't own yourself anymore. Sorry
So you say “consent” in the first part of your response, but don’t realize that revenge porn is a **consent** issue? Okay...
If someone sends confidential material over email/text, whether it is business trade secrets or comprimising nudies, the gov't shouldn't have retroactive authority to butt in. It's up to the SENDER to secure confidentility. The 1st scenario references stolen photos or similar.
But they have the rights to keep people safe from harassment so if the sender abuses their power as the sender then the actor can take legal action. It's called the LAW.
If they are threatening to release the photos in order to get something from the victim, that's blackmail. But just showing the photos for shits and giggles, is not.
Actually, there are 40 states with revenge porn laws that criminalize sharing nudes without consent. I also testified for the one on the Ohio floor which is expected to pass unanimously. But go on...
"actaully" most of the revenge porn laws apply to ppl who had their imagery stolen VS people who have narcissistic tendencies and willingly choose to share lewd information. That would be entrapment.
Please google “nonconsensual pornography”... these laws do not indicate that the photos have to be stolen first. They include both photos taken during intimate relationships and photos taken without permission. Again - this is a consent issue.
