Tennis has an equality problem. What happened with Serena Williams at the US Open final is a fraction of what that feels likepic.twitter.com/Er4CFnpEGb

Serena Williams' US Open appearance is about more than just her
Tennis star Serena Williams accused the U.S. Open final umpire, Carlos Ramos, of sexism after she was penalized for calling him a “liar” and a “thief.”

@mashable Defending this behavior is disgusting: @serenawilliams was caught CHEATING, was DISRESPECTFUL with her opponent and umpire, LOST, and then took it like a spoiled BRAT! Nothing to do with sexism: Justice was done: a BETTER player (@Naomi_Osaka_ ) WON and deserve it all

Her coach got busted for cheating (which he later admitted), but Serena lost her composure and escalated her bad behavior to 3 code violations. Now she's being heralded as a civil rights hero? All the while stealing the spotlight from @Naomi_Osaka_. Seriously WTF??

Hilarious. Stop embarrassing yourself. It wasn’t her day- period! Serena was annihilated, thoroughly beaten- Badly! It had nothing to do with sexism, racism or any other excuse the leftist elites come up with. Listening to clowns like you would make one believe the ref beat her

Whether or not male players get cited for more serious offenses or not does not excuse Williams’ behavior. As a professional, she should rise above and be the best example of sportsmanship. Especially, to all of the children that are watching.

Serena lost a tennis match, but she also lost respect due to her behavior. No different than anyone else.

Bad choice of example, since changing t-shirt on the court (behind the serve line, as in the video) is forbidden for men too!

An umpire has never taken a game from a man because he/she was called 'thief'? How many times do tennis players call umpires thieves???? I cannot believe Williams is banging the sexism drum 👎👎👎👎, totally belittles feminism and what it stands for.

Taking advantage of women's rights and gender equality movements for PR purposes, is exactly what's ruining these movements. She was on the wrong side of this story. So please don't spin and make it all about "strong women"!

I am totally 100% on Serena’s side. The arrogant sexism women are expected to tolerate in tennis - remember the prize pool for male vs female? ridiculous. The shirt thing is so blatant, banning the catsuit wtf! The fact women get ‘checked’ and fined by umpires and men don’t? BS.
