They are going to lose me ass a customer. They charged me $6 extra as a peak pricing penalty even though the charge from the theater was only $2 extra. Customer service just kept repeating it is a peak pricing fee. How is Thursday at 3pm peak time?
-
Can you do math? $6 extra for weekends and popular evenings is still waaaay cheaper than full price for any movie in this country. You're still getting more than your money's worth if you only see movies during peak. You're only hurting yourself if you stop using it.
-
They explained peak pricing has to do with both time of the day/week and when/where customers tend to see movies. One place in town was showing Fallout this weekend with no peak pricing. I made the extra 20min drive, saw it last night in a nice theater that would've cost me $16.

Use the app. Shop around.

Unfortunately here in Northern NJ AMC owns 90 percent of the theaters and all charge the same prices. To me the AMC Alist plan $19.9 a month may make more sense. No peak pricing and I can get IMAX and Dolby Vision included.
-
Wow, that sucks! I totally get why that seems a reasonable option, but how is it that the prices are less than $6 a ticket? The rest of the cost is covered by the monthly fee. Depending on how many movies you see, tickets would have to be pennies for that $6 to matter.
-
Isn't Dolby Vision primarily a TV thing?
-
Negative, AMC Prime Dolby Theater is like an IMAX on Steroids. Beautiful HDR Laser Projection, Twice as many surround speakers as well as Speakers overhead and seat rumblers to emphasize the bass. The price for Dolbyvn tickets is $19 during the week and as much as $26 on weekends
