Asphalt may be so 20th century but this tweet is SO 2 months ago (when you originally posted it). I really need to stop following mashable.

My only concern is: what about proper road-tire traction? In that regard, are plastic roads a SAFE replacement for asphalt roads
-
Our plastic roads meet British Standards, inc tire traction etc. They're tested in ukas labs and we wouldn't be allowed to lay them if they didn't meet safety regs.

Ok. It was just a thought that occurred to me

OK. 1) Isn't concrete the same way and usually no one replaces sections. Just fills them in with asphalt. 2) How do you remove sections with pipes running in them? 3) Doesn't plastic melt in high temp areas like AZ? 4) Who thinks the hollow center will buckle and cave in?
