The Boss always just reminds me so much of Saskatoon. Like if I had to assign Canadian cities an Arkells song, The Boss would be Saskatoon’s.

Champagne Socialist is still my fave Jackson Square song. Gimme a harmonica and I’m IN.

Lol Jackson Square takes the cake by far for explicit language, I just noticed. Only Tragic Flaw is safe for the children on the album. I love it.

Okay, fave lyrics from Jackson Square would have to be either the chorus from I’m Not The Sun or “I’m so lost/And I live just around the corner” from John Lennon. Onto Michigan Left.

Michigan Left (the song) is definitely my favourite from Michigan Left (the album). It’s such a good song to listen to, but when you hear it live... Chills. I can still feel myself jumping around in the crowd during the chorus.

Kiss Cam is such a great story. Love those lyrics so much. My fave lyric has to be “I could love every mistake” from On Paper, though. Onto High Noon!

High Noon is probably the album that sticks with me the most, both for lyrics and the actual music. I listened to it on repeat for like four months while I was working on the road and never got sick of it. There are sooo many lyrics I love. I’m just gunna put them all down here.

“And the wipers moved/Like some waving arms” from Come To Light. Such great imagery and story telling in these lyrics.

The entire story of Never Thought That This Would Happen is SO GOOD. It makes me nostalgic for being young and dumb around the campfire in the summer.

“You our baby in the corner/We’ll be dirty dancing all night.” What Are You Holding On To? This is my favourite Arkells lyric of all time. It’s nothing profound or thought-provoking but I love it. I want it embroidered on a pillow to put on my couch.

Knocking At The Door STILL makes me tear up, because it reminds me not only of the shock and rage leading up to the Women's March in 2017, but also of the coming together of people to say "This isn't okay and we're ready to fight for each other."

I remember when Private School first got released and we were all like "WTF? This doesn't sound like Arkells." but the more I listened, the more I loved this song. Still love it. The lyrics are 🔥🔥🔥

Round and Round is another nostalgic fave for me. Reminds me of having fun on Thursday nights in Moose Jaw and then meeting up on Friday morning to laugh about all the dumb shit we did. Those were the DAYS. Onto Rally Cry!!

LOVE the chorus of American Screams because it's so beyond relevant, not only in American politics, but in Canadian politics as well. It was also SO COOL to phone in to a hotline to listen to this song for the first time. Only took about 20 tries lol.

Also very cool to tune in to Rock 102 (@ROCK102TWITS) to hear Relentless and the story behind it for the first time. The Hip being subtly a part of the song also makes it that much sweeter.

Only For A Moment is probably my favourite pre-album release. The story is a gut punch. I struggle to sing along because I get so choked up. Also, the piano reminds me so much of 11:11.

Eyes on the Prize /might/ be my fave. Love what it's about, love the lyrics, love the beat. I think it might b what All right on Chance's Coloring Book was for me. Not the immediate standout, but the one I put on every playlist for the next couple of years.
