    isn’t quite right: the requirement for checks on GB to NI goods isn’t implied. It’s express: but it is carefully concealed so that those not paying close attention and without a set of EU legislation to hand won’t see it.

    It would be helpful if someone from the Government spelt out where in the Withdrawal Agreement and/or the Political Declaration it thinks the EU made these commitments. By my reading, the WA clearly implies there *will* be checks GB to NI

    I repeat this.

    It's not a huge demographic but there have long been people in Ireland who preference Labour (or some other soft left option) first then list everyone else and finally put Sinn Féin last. My parental grandparents, who both saw Labour as too Conservative, did this.
