I’ve been trying to understand conservative thinking lately. What are they trying to conserve? Tradition, regardless of new information? In practice, the net result (stagnation) is misaligned with people’s natural inclination to continuously improve things.
High-minded conservatives want to conserve what’s fundamentally true, limit the scope of govt, stress personal accountability etc. I totally respect that; there’s a yin/yang between conservative & liberal that works. But Trump & his ilk are not conservative; they are neo-fascist.

How is he a neo-fascist? He is the opposite of socialism creating opportunity zones and cancelling NAFTA and taking on China and bringing back manufacturing to help the lower and middle class.
