as an artist I'd love to give you some feedback: making artists participate in contests is demeaning it essentially causes us to work for free without knowing if we will get hired. I understand where you are going with this, but please, just do a RFQ for artists instead

What are you talking about? No one would be “making” an artist do anything! And they would be paid for their work, by the way.

I disagree with removing them. They are part of our history right or wrong. Sometimes you need symbols of what you once were to show how far you’ve come and don’t want to be lest you forget. In trauma healing I forgave my own past errors with loving acceptance, not denying it.

The Germans don’t have statues of World War II Nazi leaders to remind the German people of their history. A statue in a public place is a sign of honor and should be reserved for that.

The ones actually from the Civil War era can go in museums, the rest should be melted down into free COVID-19 vaccines

Melt them down and make more Neptune statues like the one at Virginia beach.

I like the idea...
May our history not be abandoned...but used as fuel
for justice moving forward. May
ours be a chapter of love.pic.twitter.com/FbWhlJob5n
