He shouldn’t have been killed but he also shouldn’t have taken the taser from the cop, tried to run away and shot the taser at the cop. This isn’t a clear case of police wrongdoing. Still a tragedy he lost his life. Policing policy needs reform.
The DA disagrees with you; the officer has been charged with murder. If someone takes your taser and runs away from you, no you don't get to shoot him in the back! He wasn't running away from a violent crime, remember; he was running away from where he fell asleep at Wendy's.

I’m not taking a strong position here. But if a person wrestles away a weapon from the cops and tries to shoot it at them while running away, it’s not totally unreasonable for the officer to shoot back. I don’t think he should have shot to kill.

Honestly, if you watch the video you can see the man turning back to shoot the taser at the cop as he runs away. I don’t know what the reasonable procedure is if your suspect takes your taser and then shoots it at you. It should not be shoot to kill, maybe call for backup?
