20 yrs ago subjects like science, tech, engineering & math (STEM) became emphasized in public schools. But history, civics, government and art are just as important & their de-emphasis in schools has had devastating effects. (There’s a reason why he said “I love the uneducated”)

I absolutely agree. If true history has been taught, we wouldn't have protesters today trying to pull down statues of Christopher Columbus, because there wouldn't have been such statues in the first place.

1/ My response was tongue-in-cheek. Up to now, American history has been, for the most part, written from an entitled and biased white perspective. Our history books conveniently omit the number of democratically elected leaders of numerous countries our government had helped

2/ to overthrow and replace with despots. History education is worse than worthless if it does not reflect objective and unadorned truths, it is deadly.
