A bit too late, Congress and most alphabet agencies (FBI, CIA, NATO, etc.) are bought by financial and industrial oligarchs and their lobbyists.
It’s the philosophical underpinning of our democracy that has become frayed, the social consensus that the purpose of government is to serve the people and not the other way around.
