Not enough. Redirect more from DoD and the wars and the debt we pay for those wars. End the trade deals that only benefit corps and Wall st and reform health care. We spend way too much without universal coverage. Outsourcing? Build local economies.

The good news is that abolitionism is actually a total project. It involves dismantling the carceral state and the military industrial complex. It involves anti-capitalist economics. Abolitionism is a comprehensive approach to societal transition.

It just makes the most sense. Fund social and peace programs, which would as stated, make much less need for a forceful police agency. We still need them, but in a better way.https://www.mariannenow.com/issues/us-department-of-peace-plan …

On June 23, 2010 a rocket-propelled grenade tore through Private First Class Russell Madden's vehicle. At twenty-nine, he had enlisted in the Army because he needed health insurance to cover treatment for his four-year-old son’s cystic fibrosis.

After Russell’s death, his mother responded to President's condolence letter that "If my son had found a decent employer and sufficient health insurance in this great land of ours my son would not have had to sacrifice his life for his son". From @davidsvine's Base Nation

"Policing" we do not need; "Peacemakers," perhaps.

A person tried to break into my home last month. I didn’t need a peacekeeper. I needed law enforcement with gun, since I didn’t carry one.The country my parents migrated from, the police are so negligent, you’d have to take law into your own hands.I’m grateful for the good cops.

Can’t agree on this one. We want to “demilitarize” and hold the police accountable. Eliminating the police is decisive and just plain stupid.
