Propoganda still relies on us to be effective. Facebook owns Instagram too. Don't see 2 of the 3 major social media outlets shutting down. We need to take responsibility for the resiliency of our own minds.

Democrats can't spend years deregulating Big Tech, make Sheryl Sandberg's ode to selfish corporate feminism a bestseller, take campaign contributions from the titans of Silicon Valley and then whine when it bites them in the ass. They were warned so many times & for so long.

Tech Companies (including this one) are using behavior modification techniques (Even the so-called smart users are all susceptible). We know this, but it is responsible for ideological extremists. Read Jarron Lenneir’s book on social media (Ten Arguments). Unbelievable read.

We can argue the extent of the dangers until the cows come home, but Facebook is not going to shut itself down. Until we can enact the legislative changes needed to hold tech companies responsible, we must hold ourselves responsible for how we use or are used by them.
