I understand the sentiment but this is a bad idea. Millions of legitimate business people make their living in whole or in part through advertising on Facebook.

I hear that. Mark Zuckerberg knows how he could stop allowing Facebook to be used for totally nefarious purposes. He could do it if he wanted to.

I actually use Facebook daily for my small business. Unfortunately it is the source that generations most of my sales. Shutting it down could greatly impact my livelihood. I am already struggling after being closed for almost three months.

I didn’t say the government should shut it down. I suggested that a man who makes billions of dollars from a completely amoral business model with undue influence on our elections might consider doing something good for his country.

The platform has been harvesting data, selling it to companies that develop psych profiles for the purpose of manipulating us. This tech has been used to suppress votes and even foment genocide. Don’t take it from me; watch The Great Hack and draw your own conclusions.
