The reason the protests are important is because the longer they go on, the more pressure there is on the system to actually make fundamental changes. As long as they’re peaceful, it only shows the abusiveness of the system when police attack protesters.#staysafe

Agreed, but saddened that the protests will cause huge spikes in
#COVID19. Very hard to stay safe amid these conditions.
That’s one of the reasons more older people are not there. If it weren’t for Covid, the crowds would be even much bigger.

True. And the immuncompromised can't be out there, even if they want to be. It's just so sad. The protests *have to* take place, and *have to* withstand and overcome the police brutality, but it'll come with a price during the pandemic. A lot of younger people will get sick.
