1/ Police brutality is part of a larger system of brutality. Our economic system is brutal to the poor, our environmental policies are brutal to the earth, factory farming is brutal to animals, and our military policies are too often brutal towards other people in the world.
2/ A tendency towards violence is a national character defect. From slavery to genocide of Native Americans to mass incarceration & police brutality, it’s not enough to treat the effects. It’s time for us to recognize the underlying cause, to atone for it & commit to real change.
3/ This generation won’t have peace If we think it’s as simple as getting rid of institutional forms of violence. We will have true peace only when we decide to wage peace. That’s why the peaceful protests are important. Why justice is important. And why we need a Dept of Peace.

We have to STOP TALKING. We know the root cause, Marianne Williamson has proffered the best solution to right the seeds of illwill sown from the day settlers set foot on the First Nations lands and fertilized in the jim crow era and cultivated over the years.
What's missing is the soul and conscience with which you speak. Sigh. Nothing sane holding the country together. If you were in government, the country might take a deep breath, even evolve.
So many times I have wanted the, why? More then a handful of people commit crimes or let's say suicides for reasons. We should get to the bottom of this and make the needed changes.
Most Americans are non-violent.The few extremists who aren't are at the heart of our disfunction. Politics has been twisted into blood sport. Our leaders are cutthroat and bloodthirsty. Most of us want peace, but on our own terms.
