Don't know if you caught it.. about 4 days ago de Blasio got in front of cameras & was 'modestly' critical of NYPD. Next day his daughter was arrested at a NYC protest. NYPD records of those arrests are "confidential". Took 24 hrs for her arrest record to be released to the news.
So about those mayors that we all thought were pretty socially enlightened guys. Is it that they were lying the whole time, or that they themselves are scared and are basically incapable of controlling their police forces? Trying to figure this one out.

They’re all scared to death. Many Mayors and the Governors, the members of police the government, they’re all scared to death. Back to bullying and the psychology of what causes someone to be a bully. “...when good men do nothing.” Cowardice in public service.

I don’t think the mayors are able to control the police force. The police have powerful unions and make their own rules. Instead of attacking protesters they could have lined the streets with businesses and protected the mom and pop shops. 1/2

The wealthy are agitated about the destruction of their neighborhood. They are also putting pressure on the mayors. The police added more destruction than protecting. The mayors are incapable and weak bystanders. The police have all the power. Time to change this nationally.

The police are now in charge and asserting their authority through a violent national uprising against the citizenry.

Kind of reminds me of that thing about the founding fathers and standing armies. I wonder why we didn't listen to them?
