Corporations need to pay a significant portion, not taxpayers. Also, are we paying reparations for slavery, or just the general shite treatment blacks have received in America, or both? Either way I don't think it should be a dollar figure but a giant permanent shift of wealth.

I think partly putting it into economic renewal is fine, but a big chunk of it has to go right into their hands. It's their money that was stolen from them, and they never got the benefit of generational wealth.

That would be up to the reparations council to decide. White people should not be making that decision.

I appreciate your efforts, sincerely. You’ve spoken about reparations even before this current national outcry. After being denied agency for centuries, however, denying agency and choice again by telling people how they can spend money won’t go over well. That’s appeasement not

This is illogical. If the purpose is recognition of a debt and an attempt to remunirate somewhat, it doesn't follow that you dictate how people use that money. This sounds like the old company store racket.
