Majority of policepeople are good & decent public servants. Ones I know are as politically aware of what’s going on in this country as is anyone else. Let’s include them in our prayers today. The situation is very complicated, very dangerous. Let’s pray that love & peace prevail.

But just about every one has been enabling them. As the saying goes, if you’re silent at injustice, you are with the oppressor.
You don’t know that. You don’t know the numbers. You’re just assuming that. It’s no different than defining any other group by their shadow element.

It IS different because they as an institution MUST be vigilant against corruption and abuse in order to be legitimate. It IS different because they are the ones given the power to legally wield violence.

They as an institution does not shift the burden to individual officers. The citizens who pay for law enforcement in their cities implicitly accept current police behavior. The people the police serve must ultimately take action.
