It’s hard to understand why it’s third-degree and not first-degree murder. But I’m happy to see the first steps towards justice.

there are three other cops yet to get charged. is there a big difference in accessory to third-degree murder and accessory to first-degree murder? is one a felony and the other a misdemeanor in minnesota? this could be a factor.

They charged him with 3rd degree and are pretending this was an accident and his 3 accomplices are walking around free! This is not a good job this is not justice

Half-ass charges filed.

Charges are easy to file, as they usually do in these cases. Actually sending a cop to prison for murder is almost impossible.

3rd degree is a joke.

not enough. not soon enough. Marianne we can't applaud the powerful for doing the bare minimum.

I respect
@marwilliamson's sentiment, but it's pretty clear DA is trying to do bare minimum to contain the situation. Anyone who is not a cop would have been arrested on the spot, but they didn't do that. They need to do far more and show much more conviction in their actions. - 1 more reply

3rd degree is not a good job, it’s protective custody
