Did Jesus say to feed the poor or feed the rich? Do you think $500B to corporate America with no requirement they even pay their workers is teaching those corporations to fish? Or creating jobs? Or stimulating the economy for anyone but them & a very few? Nothing Christian there

Amazing to me how much faith you put into a corrupt, wasteful beaurocracy. I’ll choose “local” over “national” any day. Neighbors taking care of neighbors. Churches taking care of churchgoers. Families taking care of families. Food banks taking care of locals. More efficient.
Government handouts should be the exception, not the rule. Why anyone would actually want to encourage people getting on the dole and being beholden to others / government is beyond me. I’ll always encourage self-esteeming hard-work / self-sufficiency over handouts any day.
He said teach a man to fish so he doesn’t have to rely on handouts. He also said don’t get into debt so you won’t have to owe the debtor. I find self-sufficiency more empowering, American & Christian. Food banks, local Churches, Samaritan’s Purse do a better job over Gov’t.
