1/ What made the leaders of WW2 so profound was that they viscerally knew the horrors of war. There was nothing about it that felt like a game with them. You get a sense of the depth of their grief that they had to send men to war.

I’m devastated by how young soldiers in combat were & are from all around the world! My constant prayer is for an end to war permanently! I’m reminded of the lyrics Nick Lowe wrote in 1973 which was recorded by Elvis Costello “What’s so funny ‘bout peace love & understanding”
