3/ People have an instinctive way of knowing when somebody’s not telling the real truth. If you don’t provide the space for radically genuine truth-telling, people become vulnerable to conspiratorial lies.

I agree wholeheartedly. For those struggling with your language, I would say people are hardwired for connection to a higher purpose and for community. Thank you, Marianne for helping me find that. So grateful.

I love Mary Anne but I did not like her tweet. But if she worded it like you I would have loved it. I get it, most believers feel non believers are missing out. I was that way as a believer.

Bad take, not everyone is spiritual. Some people focus on the problems of earth but hope for the resolution of the problems in Heaven.

Some people are spiritual and don't think of it as religion. There is no god in most forms of Buddhism, for example. It would be an error to suggest they are not spiritual people.

As an atheist, I find this to be a thoughtless and somewhat hurtful tweet. You should know how hurtful Christian-normativity can be to people. Especially the large amount of people who have had all that forced onto us.

I hear you. I love Marianne. I guess I'll just file this under tweets for believers and let it slide. I know I tweet anti religious things sometimes that would offend her. Her belief is atheists are missing out on something great. I was that way once as a former believer.
