The opposite is also true. I ran a non-demonational church for six years. If I had said, "We're going to remain closed for reasons of public safety," the govt. would not have had the right to make me open it.

Right but these guys R going agnst govt ordrs & getting arrested. Ur ex could be true. But that'd be ur choice. When a law's n place, n this case no gatherings of 10 or more people, are you suggesting they cld fight these charges & win? Citing separation of church n State?

No one is forcing churches to open as you seem to imply. They're telling states they can't force them to close. The church can decide if they want to remain open or not. Many deem religious beliefs are essential to their well being. 1A guarantees the right to exercise that right.
